Naomi Baron
In the tradition of Library Juice’s Home Pages of the Week, I will occasionally feature librarians, scholars, and activists whom I find deserving of attention.
Naomi S. Baron is Director of the TESOL program at American University and a scholar who researches the influence of electronic communication on language and literacy as the carrier of culture. I recommend this brief Op-Ed piece that appeared in a number of newspapers in December, “Killing the Word by Snippets,” as well as her recent longer paper, “The Future of Written Culture.” (Both are PDF files.)
